Retractable Cords The ratio of retracted length to extended length can be varied by changing the diameter of the coil.   Special considerations for designing retractable cords include: • Type and size of conductors • Insulating materials • Desired cord dimensions Able regularly produces both thermocouple and multi-conductor retractable cords for use with resistance temperature devices (RTDs).
